Acclaimed as a “dynamic…polished… [and] spirited” musician by The New York Times, Mina Um is a passionate violinist who has performed with orchestras such as the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Boston Festival Orchestra, and Farmington Valley Symphony. She regularly performs as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and The Juilliard School. Ms. Um is one of the select group of Juilliard graduates invited to return to the Master of Music program. Now in her first year of master’s and an avid outreach advocate, she collaborates with a percussionist and dancer from Juilliard to present a series of interactive performances in New York City health care facilities. Her interests go beyond classical music, collaborating with pop artists such as Nicki Minaj to appear on Good Morning America and Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. Ms. Um is currently studying with Professor Hyo Kang.
